Le Petit Theatre Sale to Dickie Brennan Finally Happened

Over the summer, there was a lot of talk (and much kerfuffling) about the potential sale of a portion of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre to Dickie Brennan. The sale was approved by the theater's shareholders in August, but then nothing much else was heard about it. Of course, presumably a lot was going on behind the scenes, because out of nowhere the sale has been announced.

The sale means that the theater will actually be able to resume performances after having been on an indefinite hiatus since 2010, with Brennan and friends renovating their half of the space and turning it into a French Creole restaurant. According to Ian McNulty at the Gambit, that restaurant should open in the fall of 2012.
