FRENCH QUARTER?There's a new sweets shop in the Quarter, called The Sweet Palate. By Spanish pastry chef Oriol Balaguer, the shop features French pastries, Belgian-style biscuits, gelato and other products in addition to the chocolates. The store is related to Borne Confections in New York City, which also features Balaguer's chocolates. Here's a website. [Got Tidbits]

UPTOWN? There's a new menu at La Petite Grocery, which can be viewed on their website here. The new dessert menu is by pastry chef Bronwen Wyatt, a recent addition to the La Petite crew. [EaterWire]

LEE CIRCLE?The international music series at Bellocq in the Hotel Modern continues this Sunday with the French indie group The Two. The show's at 9PM, no cover. Here's a music video from the band. [EaterWire]
