TREME? After serving only lunch since reopening after Katrina, Dooky Chase is once again serving dinner. For not dinner is only available on Fridays from 5-9PM, though they will likely add Saturdays soon. [Gambit]
FAUBOURG MARIGNY? on February 2, Cafe Istanbul inside the St Claude Healing Center is hosting the first-ever Bacchanalia, a competitive wine tasting event. Teams of up to 3 people will each bring 3 bottles of their favorite cabernet sauvignon, with 2 being uncorked and blind-tasted by everyone in the room. It costs $45 per team, with registration ending January 31. [TP]
FRENCH QUARTER? Also on February 2, the bloggers at He Said/She Said NOLA are taste testing king cakes at Patrick's Bar Vin. The cake tasting is free and there will also be specials on glasses of sparkling wine to pair with the cakes. A whole bunch of bakeries have thrown their hats into the ring for the chance to be crowned the best in town. [He Said/She Said]
