Look at all those pink chef's jackets. This morning was the official unveiling of the NOLA Goes Pink campaign at the Ritz-Carlton's M Bistro. NOLA Goes Pink is a (you guessed it) breast cancer awareness thing/fundraiser where participating restaurants are donning pink gear and offering special dishes, with all proceeds from the sale of those dishes going to the NOLA branch of Susan G Komen for the Cure. And as the photo above clearly demonstrates, chefs in pink jackets are much, much cooler than football players in pink NFL gear.

And FYI: Susan G Komen New Orleans gives grants to local groups working in breast cancer prevention and treatment, like the St Charles Community Health Center, West Jeff Medical Center, and the LSU School of Public Health.

A whole buncha restaurants are signed on. Here's a (not-quite-exhaustive) list of restaurants and chefs participating:

· 5 Fifty 5, Mark Quitney
· Andrea's, Andrea Apuzzo
· Arnaud's, Tommy DiGiovanni
· Bayona, Susan Spicer
· Mondo, Susan Spicer and Cindie Crosbie
· The Bombay Club, Ricky Cheramie
· Bourbon House, Darin Nesbit
· Café Giovanni, Duke LoCicero
· Capdeville, Zach Tippin
· Davenport Lounge, Vinny Russo and Emily Dillport
· M Bistro, Vinny Russo and Emily Dillport
· Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse, Alfred Singleton
· Herbsaint, Rebecca Wilcomb
· La Cote Brasserie, Chuck Sabra
· La Thai, Diana Chauvin
· Le Meritage, Michael Farrell
· MiLa, Allison Vines-Rushing and Slade Rushing
· Muriel's Jackson Square, Gus Martin
· Palace Café, Ben Thibodaux
· The Pelican Club, Richard Hughes
· Ralph's on the Park, Chip Flanagan
· Red Fish Grill, Michael Gottlieb
· Reginelli's Pizzeria, Darryl Reginelli
· Ste. Marie, Mike Pedranti
· Sylvain, Alex Harrell
· Taceaux Loceaux, Maribeth Del Costillo
· Vega Tapas Cafeé, Glen Hogh

That's a pretty good list of restaurants, and one food truck! The special dish offered by each one for the month of October will have a special focus on healthfulness, something New Orleans restaurants are decidedly not known for. But it's okay, healthfulness can still equal deliciousness, especially with these folks.
