Popular creole spice mix maker, Tony Chachere's, is feeling litigious, filing a lawsuit today against Lake Charles-based Big Easy Foods for all sorts of copyright infringement. Big Easy Foods used to license the Tony's name for different packaged foods; Tony's claims that, after that agreement was terminated, Big Easy Foods started ripping off the better known brands' image, "closely duplicating the Tony Chachere's brand, wording, and packaging." (BTW, for the uninitiated it's pronounced "satch-uh-rees." God bless Louisiana.)
