Downtown Music & Arts Festival and the Street Fare Derby Highlight Weekend's Festivals

It's a Friday in New Orleans, which means festivals, festivals, festivals. Here's Eater NOLA's round-up of all the fess-related goings-on in the area this weekend.

DOWNTOWN? The Music Business Institute, a non-profit working to "increase opportunities for musicians and music professionals," is hosting the first-ever nola DOWNTOWN Music & Arts Festival. The centerpiece of this festival features music and booze at Lafayette Square Park, with related activities at music clubs all around the Warehouse and Central Business Districts. FAUBOURG ST JOHN? The Street Fare Derby brings the city's top food trucks to the Fair Grounds for food and music. Music by Papa Grows Funk and Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers. NEW IBERIA? This weekend is also the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival & Fare It actually started Wednesday night, but continues through Sunday.
