Saints Quarterback and perpetual most-popular-man-in-New-Orleans, Drew Brees, is looking for folks to work at his Jimmy John's. Since leading the New Orleans Saints to the Super Bowl and single-handedly saving an entire region (so the story went during the 2009 football season), Brees has had a ridiculous run of success. He's hoping to bring that to the world of fast food. And as we all know, the central ingredient to fast food success is "Rockstar delivery drivers and sandwich makers."
In all fairness, the central ingredient to success is more likely loving your product, and Brees seems to have that. As he said in 2010 when he first announced his plan to bring Jimmy John's to New Orleans:
I was exposed to Jimmy John's during my freshman year at Purdue. I ate there all the time and had it delivered to my dorm room all the time. I just loved the sandwiches. If someone can live in the land of Po'Boys and really, truly miss this Midwestern sandwich chain, they must make a pretty good sandwich.
The rumor-mill is churning, with word that Brees' fast food sandwich shop is going to be in Metairie, Louisiana, not New Orleans proper. We'll be following this closely as more details come out.
