Theater OKs Sale to Dickie Brennan

The members of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre' last night approved the sale of a portion of their building to the Dickie Brennan Restaurant Group. The sale will now be able to go forward, with Dickie Brennan set to purchase the space for $3 million. The theater hasn't been in operation since the 2009-2010 season, so the money from this sale should help it regain solvency. Meanwhile, Dickie Brennan expects to put another $3-$4 million into the building to repair its "severe" roof, water, and termite damage.

We don't know yet what Dickie's new restaurant will be called. Options include a number of bland but old-timey names, like:

·Cafe de la Louisiane
·Le Petit Bistro
·Cafe de Vieux Carre
·Tableaux at Le Petit Theatre

Let's just hope it's not the last one, with its nonsensical Franglais.
