Not quite in time for tomorrow's Armageddon, but noteworthy nonetheless: Baton Rouge-based Tin Roof Brewing Company is releasing their latest line of beer next Wednesday, November 9. The new line is a blond ale called Bandit Blonde in honor of the "Chinese Bandits," the totally 1950s nickname for a group of players on the 1958 national championship winning LSU football team. So far, it looks like Bandit Blonde will only be available in Baton Rouge, so we'll wait and see when it makes its way down River Road to us here in New Orleans.
According to Bite and Booze,Tin Roof?owned by a pair of LSU alumni?hoped to release Bandit Blonde earlier this fall, but there was some delay due to issues with the official collegiate licensing. It's not yet officially licensed, so while that process continues they're contributing 10% of all proceeds to the LSU Foundation.
