Art Reception at La Divina, Alaskan King Crab at GW Fins

GARDEN DISTRICT? The Magazine Street location of La Divina Gelateria is hosting an art reception this Saturday, December 3, from 6-9PM, featuring the artwork of Philip "Chip" Lightweiss-Goff. The artist, originally from South Carolina, creates artwork with found objects. The reception is free and open to the public. [EaterWire]

FRENCH QUARTER? Downtown seafood restaurant GW Fins is expecting to get a big ol' shipment of Alaskan King Crab, probably tomorrow. Chef Tenney Flynn plans to serve it as an entrée with Creole Mustard cream sauce and as one of 7 levels of a "chilled seafood tower." They should start serving it tomorrow evening. [EaterWire]

BYWATER? Just as a reminder, with tomorrow night's gig at Vaughan's, local trumpeter Kermit Ruffins will be transitioning to a new, earlier schedule. This is really happening. The show tomorrow night kicks off at 7. [NoDef]
