Former Saints quarterback and godfather of the NFL's First Family, Archie Manning, finally will open his sports-bar and restaurant in January. The restaurant, called Mannings, was initially announced last October, with an anticipated opening this past September. It was delayed until 2012, but thankfully we won't have to wait too far into next year to experience it.
The restaurant on Fulton Street will be huge, with 210 seats, "indoor and outdoor bars, a courtyard, 30 TVs and a gift shop featuring products emblazoned with 'Manning's insignia.'" It will also be outfitted with a "changing collection" of Manning family memorabilia. Hopefully they'll even have some rare Cooper Manning gear.
Oh yeah, and the chef is former Upperline chef Anthony Spizale, who will be serving up Southern food with a New Orleans flair. Or New Orleans food with a Southern flair. One of those.
