The Algiers Point Bonfire; Celebrating Beaujolais

ALGIERS POINT? The date for the Algiers Point Holiday Bonfire is set. It'll be December 3, with music and a riverboat parade starting at 5pm. This will be only the second since Katrina that the Pernt has celebrated Christmas with this old Louisiana tradition. [TP]

DOWNTOWN? This Saturday, The French-American Chamber of Commerce (yes, that's a thing) will celebrate the wines of Beaujolais, including Beaujolais nouveau. Tickets are $60, available here. [MNO]

MID CITY? Rayne, Louisiana native Isaac Toups plans to open a meat-fest called Toups' Meatery on Carrollton Avenue. [IND]
