It's day 4 of the run-up to the 2011 Eater Awards, and our search for the finalists continues. Yesterday you all helped narrow down the nominees for Chef of the Year, with Alon Shaya of Domenica and Alex Harrell of Sylvain running away with it, with Nathanial Zimet of Boucherie in a distant third. (We suspect social media played a role in this two-person landslide.) Today, we move on to the nominees for Bartender of the Year.
Just as it was difficult to narrow down the vast cooking talent in New Orleans to a handful of nominees, it was equally difficult to narrow down the bartenders and mixologists. There are just so many great bars here and so many incredibly talented people working behind those bars. In the end, we selected a group of six amazing professionals who will always, consistently, serve up a fantastic cocktail. The nominees range from the well-established (Chris Hannah and Chris McMillian) to the award-winning (Sean Thibodaux and Jason Lee) to the quietly awesome (Cole Newton and Rhiannon Enlil). As always, your votes will help narrow down the nominees to 3 finalists, from which we'll select the winner.
The poll will be open for 24 hours and voting irregularities will be strictly enforced. Let's get to voting, and later let's get to drinking.
