Chef Phillip Lopez, formerly of John Besh's The American Sector and CBD tapas restaurant, Rambla, is opening a new restaurant in the Warehouse District. Called Root, it's due to open November 1 at 200 Julia Street (where Feast used to be). Lorin Gaudin reported this first.
With GM Max Ortiz, also a Besh alum, Root will offer "Modern American rooted in traditional flavors and techniques." Get it? Rooted? Heh heh.
Not but seriously this should be pretty cool.
