Mr Okra Documentary Screening Tonight at NOMA

This is a thing, and it's happening tonight and you should probably go: Those spunky young folks at the Young Leadership Council, along with the New Orleans Film Society, are hosting a free movie screening at the New Orleans Museum of Art sculpture garden. The main feature is about the To Be Continued Brass Band, the group that plays almost all the time at the corner of Bourbon and Canal. The opening short, though, is about Mr Okra, "everyone's favorite food truck before food trucks became food trucks." The guys who made the Mr Okra doc will be there, along with Mr Okra himself, plus Brennan's Restaurant selling food and drink.

The New Orleans Examiner has the trailers for both films. It starts at 7:30, is free, with a suggested donation of one paperback book to go to Louisiana Books2Prisoners
