It's October, and if you're the sort of person who's into seasonally-appropriate drinking, that means Oktoberfest. New Orleans' celebrations of this German beer-and-liederhosen holiday typically revolve around the Deutsches Haus, but alas their space got demolished in the spring as part of the whole LSU hospital thing.
Wonder what's going on instead? The Gambit has the run down of all the Oktoberfest festivities going on in town. Of particular note is that the Deutsches Haus will be holding a condensed version of its traditional 5 week celebration. Unfortunately, it's all the way out in Kenner. Going over 2 weekends, they're expecting to sell 33% more beer and will pump out even more food using "a mobile kitchen on an 18-wheeler."
