LEE CIRCLE?The building that used to be Hotel Le Cirque is becoming Hotel Modern sometime in November. The new hotel is led by Klaus Ortlieb, a European hotelier who has led high-profile hotel openings in New York and Los Angeles. The best part is that the Hotel Modern will feature a new restaurant, Tamarind, by Dominique Macquet, and a new cocktail by bar the two owners of Cure. No word as to whether they'll keep the lights, though we hope they do. [CityBusiness via NewOrleans.com]

FRENCH QUARTER?The Hotel Monteleone is the headquarters this weekend for FestiGals, a fundraiser-slash-girls'-weekend that involves cocktail parties, seminars, and chocolate and wine pairings. And apparently, women wearing boas. Soledad O'Brien
