New Orleans Jazz Cafe Closes, Nobody Notices

It's official: New Orleans Jazz Cafe is closed, news that will surely be met with a resounding, "Wait, that was a place?" This was first observed by The Red Streetcar on Twitter, confirmed this afternoon by a quick pass by the tourist trap's location on Tchoupitoulas at Canal. The shutter seems to have taken place sometime between July and now.

If anyone's really torn up about this loss to our culinary heritage, don't worry: A bazillion similar, generically "New Orleansy" restaurants exist in and around the Quarter and along Canal. You'll survive.
